I am calling these the Big Fat Taco.
So it is like a Chalupa. I am seeing how other people used these and put some oil on it and cooked in a pan. I already had a pan full of oil for tortillas for making some enchiladas going on. So I thought why not put the whole thing in here. First I softened up the flatbread in the microwave for 15 seconds. So it would fold without breaking. For frying keep the oil under 350 degrees. Even turn off the burner while you put the flat bread in. I did burn one. It does not take long at all to fry. Fold it before you put it in the oil with the tongs. Pull out maybe 30 seconds or so. When it is light brown.
I added Chicken, spanish rice, el pato & lettuce. Turned out so good. Could not believe how amazing it tasted. I used leftovers ingredients for it, thinking I did not want to spend all this time making a new filling if the bread was not edible.
I will have a recipe coming soon to make a chalupa from dough. This is super easy though. Try it out.
